"The romance travels from one place to the other"
I don't know if a new name for romance is Mausam but it is surely synonymous. The scale of Mausam is large. The romance travels from one place to the other and it surely is epic in its proportions. Mausam is a period flick but it's the recent period. We are showing the 1980s and the 1990s and the year 2000. The movie isn't contemporary. But it surely spans across two to three decades.
"Mausam too has a distinctive look and a mix of traditional and western outfits"
I've never tried to be the best dressed on the sets (laughs). Yes, I am a fashion junkie. Aisha made such an impact on people that they now think of me as an actress who will do movies with only designer clothes on. If you track back, I started in Saawariya with simple black Indian dresses. In Delhi 6 too, I had very simple clothes like salwaar kameez. I Hate LUV Storys too had me in a girl next door look. Mausam too has a distinctive look and a mix of traditional and western outfits. Anamika Khanna has designed all my outfits for Mausam. My favourite is the red gown I wear in the movie.
"Pankaj Kapoor has given a role of a lifetime to Shahid"
I liked Shahid's first movie Ishq Vishq. I loved him in Kaminey and Jab We Met. He is a very good actor and needs some really good movies to prove his mantle. Mausam will bring just that because his father and my director Pankaj Kapoor has given him a role of a lifetime. He is going to garner a lot of acclaim for sure.
"I hate sitting on that make-up chair and taking time to get ready. It so isn't me"
The second season from Mausam is the most romantic and I love it because I didn't have to wear any make-up and got ready in ten minutes. I hate sitting on that make-up chair and taking time to get ready. It so isn't me. But I love the first season, the third and the fourth too.
"It's strange but even though I am a trained dancer, nobody has made me dance in any film"
I did a bit of Salsa in Aisha and in Mausam I'm doing ballet. It's a snippet in the film where I'm doing ballet and Shahid sees me. I am a trained dancer so I could it. It's strange but even though I am a trained dancer, nobody has made me dance in any film. In 'Mallo Malli', Shahid was the one who insisted that I should shake a leg with him for one of the mukhda's in the song. I did match his steps in the song. Other than that, I'm not dancing in Mausam.
"I loved uploading some personal videos of Mausam promotions for my Twitter followers"
I have started taking these candid personal videos before and after the events I've been doing to promote Mausam. Actually, my personal video of you interviewing me should also be uploaded. That'll be interesting. I think it's more about the one to one connection with everyone on the social networking sites. I love doing such things.
"I think Bollywood G**du likes me"
A lot of people have haters on Twitter. I think Bollywood G**du likes me (laughs). I know who he is but won't disclose his name in this interview. I think you too know him (laughs). I find it unusual but many people pretend not to know him. But social networking sites do have haters. I think they aren't haters to be honest. I too give them back sometimes because I have nothing better to do. Fortunately for me, I have more good people on twitter after I found out that people are way nasty to some of my friends and colleagues (laughs).
"Mausam will make people fall in love again"
UK loves our Indian love stories. Mausam is like a quintessential romantic movie. It's really romantic. It's very today but it has got this old world charm to it too. You can say that after Yash Raj Films and Karan Johar's romantic escapades, Mausam will make people fall in love again (laughs).
"Gone With The Wind and Mughal-E-Azam are my favourite romantic movies"
My favourite romantic movie is Gone With The Wind. I like the book too. Actually, both are equally good (laughs). It's an epic movie. From Indian films, I have to say it's Mughal-E-Azam.
"I'm so happy for Mr. Bachchan that he is getting to work with Baz Luhrmann in The Great Gatsby"
That's fantastic. I'm sure that Mr. Bachchan has done it because it's a great role for him to play and to work with Baz Luhrmann is an icing on the cake. I'm so happy for him. The entire nation is. I'm also excited for my father as Mission Impossible: 4 also releases in a few months from now. In fact, both are playing 'baddies' in the film. So I guess Bad is the new Good (laughs).
