Dia Mirza to turn director | Latest Bollywood Gossips

After being in the Bollywood business for a decade, Dia Mirza is taking the next logical step. She is turning director and her debut outing would go on floors next year. Her first film as a director would be a romantic drama and while she would be producing it as well, there is a good probability that she would be acting in it too.

Informs a source close to Dia, "She always had direction in mind but wanted to be very sure before taking a plunge. She decided to go slow but steady and closely observed her 'good friend' Sahil Sangha with whom she was making Love Breakups Zindagi. Feeling far more comfortable and confident after her first ever movie making experience, Dia has now informed Sahil and her other co-producer Zayed Khan that she is ready to take the plunge."

Both her partners are supportive of her decision as well and have already started groundwork for their next production.

Says a senior member of the production house, "Love Breakups Zindagi isn't a one off film made by Dia-Zayed-Sahil; they plan to take things further on from here. In fact Dia is very charged about turning director and Zayed as well as Sahil have promised full support. An official announcement around title, cast and other details would be made soon."

While that happens, Dia does confirm what our source had to say. "Yes, I would be directing a film next year for our production house. It would be a romantic drama though I may or may not be acting in it. I can commit though it would be in line with the ethos of our company."

With two of the three company members (Sahil, Dia) turning directors, one wonders whether Zayed would be following suit pretty soon too.
