Healthy, smooth and glowing skin - Beauty and Makeup Tips

Healthy, smooth and glowing skin…

Healthy, smooth and glowing skin… we all want it, don’t we? Of course we do. Aromatherapy skin care is one way to achieve it.
Your skin is like a sponge, it absorbs traces of almost everything it comes into contact with, both good and bad. As a consumer, you should avoid skin care products that contain toxic chemicals and synthetic ingredients.
Your skin reacts to a multitude of conditions:
Emotions stress can cause your skin to become dry and dehydrated
Hormonal changes – you might experience blemishes, pimples or oily skin during these times
Climate – too much heat in the summer can produce bumps or cold winters can cause dry, itchy skin
Environmental – pollutants such as smoking can cause skin problems like sagging wrinkles, discoloration and premature aging of the skin
That’s just to name a few. Your skin is a living, dying and regenerating organ and should be treated with care. Beautiful skin is the result of your healthy body system, a system that rids itself of toxins and waste products. Unfortunately, unhealthy eating, stress, exposure to environmental toxins and sedentary lifestyles can create a situation where far more toxins are absorbed than we are able to get rid of. These disgusting invaders are then stored in our cells and tissues where they aid in premature aging by robbing your system of nutrients necessary to keep your skin healthy and vibrant.
Aromatherapy skin care, with pure essential oils, work as anti-aging agents for the skin in several ways. Pure essential oils stimulate skin cells into reproducing at a faster rate, thereby reducing the time between new skin growth and the elimination of old cells. What this means is that your skin becomes stronger and more dynamic.
The use of essential oils in skin care also prevents the congestion of toxic debris by improving the general condition of the lymph glands which improve circulation, aiding oxygenation and energizing the skin. Ever thought about a yoga retreat or physical health retreat? What a fun and healthy way to help improve your circulation.
Which aromatherapy ingredients should I use for skin care and how?
When it comes to using the essential oils that are such a big part of aromatherapy skin care, it’s important to understand a bit about your skin type. Each plant’s essential oil provides a number of different therapeutic benefits so knowing about your particular skin will help you match up your needs with the appropriate ingredients.
Great skin doesn’t have to be elusive and it doesn’t have to be expensive. Aromatherapy refreshes the skin and you can mix up your own essential oil skin care products at home.
Skin Cleanser
For a basic skin cleanser suitable for all skin types you’ll need the following:
Ground almonds (4 ounces)
Sweet Almond oil (3 ounces)
Cider vinegar (2 ounces)
Spring water (2 ounces)
To the above, add 6 drops of your favorite essential oil. I’d suggest Rosewood, Geranium, Lavender, Frankincense or a combination of any two.
Mix all of the ingredients together in a blender until smooth and creamy, then store in a jar.
Whether you have dry skin, oily skin, acne or wrinkles there is an aromatherapy skin care recipe for you.
